Hali Barkdoll, Optician

Hali at a Glance: We call her “Laughing Girl!”  Step inside Glance - If you don’t hear Hali’s laughter, she’s working in the other store. Hali came to us green as far as optical. She’s becoming a great optician though! She’s a fast learner, loves people, and she’s cross-trained - she can drive a forklift!  Cool Beans!

On Her First Pair of Glasses: I distinctly remember feigning my own eye exam at an early age, with the hope that my doctor would tell me I needed glasses. Much to my dismay, they saw right through my plan and I was told my vision was just fine… It was not until many years later, when I began working at Glance, that I finally earned my first pair of glasses! I cannot wait to further build my eyewear wardrobe!

On Finding the Perfect Eyewear: While at Glance I have been granted the opportunity to help many individuals find their perfect frame. I absolutely love sharing that “ah-ha” moment with clients when they find a frame which makes them stand up a little bit taller, smile a little bit wider and hold their head a little bit higher. Because at the end of the day, the perfect frame does more than just help you see… It helps others see you!

On Laughter: Anyone who knows me, knows that I absolutely love laughter! I am a firm believer in the theory that life is too short to always be so serious… So never be afraid to let loose from time to time, throw your head back and just laugh!!

On Strength:  Whether it is reaching a new workout goal or setting our egos aside so that we may accept the help of others; strength is something that grows overtime and takes both failures and successes to attain.

On Beauty: In my mind, beauty is a quality based purely on what we possess inside of ourselves. Our character, our flaws, our personality… these are all qualities that make one beautiful!

On Cooking: I was introduced to cooking at a very early age and immediately fell in love. Throughout the years I have grown to appreciate global cuisine; have even made a few attempts at some rather farfetched recipes that ended in my ordering take-out instead… That said, I never lost sight of those tried and true recipes that our grandmothers and great grandmothers passed down through the years. You know, the ones that have no measurements and virtually no instructions… As my years in the kitchen continue, I learn to appreciate more and more how such recipes came to be, all while beginning to create my own!
